This does have an interesting neurological explanation. Still, could there also be a past-life connection? Apart from his newly-found fluency, one wonders why this young man was interested in the Chinese language and spent time in China in the first place Several days ago, I was faciliating a class in guided imagery. Several of the students were sitting outdoors having One of these women was married, and the other had a boyfriend. The two were like sisters, sometimes bickering, but obviously caring greatly about one another.
One of the women, whom I will call Ann, mentioned that she used to have a rather silly and embarrassing problem.

For a number of years, every time she saw or heard an ambulance, she would break out in tears. If she was driving in a car with other people, Ann would try to disguise her tears or distract herself, but the spontaneous tears would come, nonetheless. In her dreams, she was being put into an ambulance and taken away.
She interpreted this dream as being symbolic of a problem she had moving forward in her life. You and Linda had a past life where you were close in some way.

Something happened to Linda, she was carried off in an ambulance, and it was terribly traumatic for you. Later she said that when she heard my words, it was like a volcanic rush flowing through her. She had never had a physical response like that before. She said she felt as though she could cry like that for days on end.

Linda also began crying. I shared with them what I suspected may have been going on. Sometimes when we have had grief or trauma in a past life, circumstances prevent us from releasing our emotions. Think of people, for instance, who have seen their loved ones die in war situations, and have been forced to move immediately into survival mode without having had the opportunity to grieve. Emotion, including grief, is meant to move through us. When it gets stopped and bottled up, for whatever reason, it is unnatural. Blocks occur that can eventually cause problems ranging from physical disease to mental or emotional issues.
I have seen hundreds of examples in past-life regressions where blocks from past lives have continued into subsequent lives, causing bewildering problems that seem to have no explanation. Scientists have recently discovered, to their amazement, that if our grandparents have experienced extreme trauma, it can be passed on genetically to us! Similarly, trauma from past lives lodges in our cell tissue, and gets passed on through lifetimes, creating problems and diseases that are sometimes baffling, until it finally has an opportunity to be discharged, understood, and healed. As I explained this, Ann, who was still sobbing, got a sudden and very clear flash of recognition.
